Build a Bandsaw Box and Do Nothing Machine

The Wooden Boat School at the Hudson River Maritime Museum is offering a week-long summer program that will introduce fundamental engineering concepts to the woodworking process as students build a bandsaw box and create a mechanical fidget toy aka a “do nothing machine.” This class employs creating round shapes in wood, gluing up wood, using fences on the bandsaw.

The Wooden Boat School at the Hudson River Maritime Museum is offering 4 sessions of wordworking classes for ages 12-16. Each session runs Monday-Friday from 10am-2pm. The third of these sessions will teach students how to build a bandsaw box and create a mechanical fidget toy aka a “do nothing machine.” This class employs creating round shapes in wood, gluing up wood, using fences on the bandsaw. Students will take home their completed project on Friday.
