Gallery Exhibit: The Magic Of Storybook Animals- Opening Day Oct 2

This fourth exhibition of original illustrations for children’s books focuses on animals in illustrated literature and will include an amazing pictorial array of the Animal World, including: *Sea & Shore *Up a Tree *Down to Earth *Creepy Crawlies *Funny & Familiar Friends *Silly & Serious *Animals Everywhere! Paintings, Drawings, Prints, and Clay and Stone Sculpture will fill the Gallery with colorful, funny, and creepy creatures that crawl, fly, gallop, and swim, all of which will jump off the page and leap off the wall to delight our visitors. Throughout Opening Day, illustrators and authors will be onsite to meet visitors and to sign and sell their books. Live animals on the front lawn will greet visitors.

Opening Day Events:
Sunday, October 2, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Come join us! Throughout Opening Day, illustrators and authors will be onsite to meet visitors and to sign and sell their books. Live animals on the front lawn will greet visitors. Art workshops will be held in the painting studio led by illustrators, Milanka Rearden (11:15 am - 12:45 pm) and Michael Garland (12:45 - 2:15 pm). Watch the artists at work during easel demos, featuring illustrators, Terry Taylor (11:30 am), Chad Wallace (1:00 pm), Nancy Armo (1:30 pm), Marisabina Russo (2:00 pm), and Ann Ladd (2:30 pm). Enjoy a storytime with the illustrators themselves, beginning with Amalia Hoffman (11:30 am), more to be announced. To close the day, there will be a special memorial tribute for illustrators Susan Jeffers, Ted Lewin, and Jerry Pinkney featuring a musical interlude by a RAC Music Student (3:10 - 3:15 pm) and a number of testimonial speakers (3:15 - 4:00 pm).
