Pick-Your-Own Pumpkins at Greig Farm
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 11/01/2020
Bring your friends and family together to spend an afternoon picking pumpkins on our Hudson Valley farm. The crisp fall air during pumpkin season is one of our favorite senses on the farm. While you visit our farm in Red Hook, NY, stop by the farm market for some fresh apple cider donuts. Pumpkin picking begins in late September and continues through early November.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
How to Pick Pumpkins
Most pick-your-own pumpkin farms do the hard work for you: they cut the pumpkins off of the vine. While we do cut many of our pumpkins for you, you may stumble upon a pumpkin still on the vine. If it’s fully orange, it’s ripe and you may cut it yourself with a set of garden shears. When you carry your pumpkin out of the patch, it’s best to carry it with your arms underneath the pumpkin, instead of carrying it by the fragile stem.
Our Picking Schedule
We grow a variety of pick-your-own fruits and vegetables throughout the season. Take a look at our pick-your-own schedule to plan your next visit!
