In-person Camp Info

We understand this is a particularly hard time for families wanting to offer an enriching yet safe summer. We have in-person and online classes.

We are closely following the guidelines provided by the Washington State Department of Health for day camps to ensure we meet and surpass State safety requirements. The guidelines allow for a maximum of 10 people, which limits our classes to 8 campers with two teachers.

Here is a list of steps we are taking this year to provide a safe and rewarding camp experience.

Distanced No-Contact Drop-off, Pick-up

We will ask families to drive up to our back door where our staff will greet you, do a no-contact check-in, and perform a quick Covid-19 screening of each camper that includes a no touch temperature check. We ask that the driver wear a mask and assist the child out of the car as needed so that we can maintain distance from your vehicle. Our staff will also undergo the contactless daily health checks prior to your arrival.

Physical distancing of children

We have cleared out our Maker Space to socially distance campers. Each camper will have their own assigned station that can personalize and decorate to be their own.

Extensive cleaning protocols

Our extensive protocols follow state guidelines, in addition to deep cleaning we also have Sanitation Stations with sanitizers & wipes for hands and equipment

PPE as recommended by Health Authorities

All staff are required to wear cloth face masks  and continually wash and maintain clean hands. We also encourage campers to wear masks as are able, we understand this is a harder ask for the younger campers so we embrace positive-reinforcement to encourage mask use rather than any punitive / negative action.

Strict no sharing policies for food & personal items

We recommend parents pack a water bottle, snacks, and a lunch that include items that don't require adult/outside help to open, this prevents the need for unnecessary handling of food items.

Adjustment to class materials and facilities to limit cross-contact

We will be giving each camper their own set of tools, their own separated bins for camp storage for the week, and the instructor will provide each camper their own set of supplies.

Facility Safety Steps

The play area will remain closed to discourage close physical contact. Additionally only campers and staff will have access to the bathroom adjacent to the camp area, and staff will be required to sanitize the bathroom after each use for the safety of our campers.

Windermere Realty has graciously offered use of a portion of their lot adjacent to Seattle ReCreative so that we will have an outdoor craft space outside our building with pop up tents and tables, this area will be lined by high visibility safety cones and and roping. More details on this to follow shortly.

In addition, we only run a single camp per week, meaning the camp space is not shared with other groups for the duration of the camp, and the camp area will be closed to non-camp staff and volunteers during camp weeks.

Distanced Outside Activities

As weather allows, our teachers will lead campers in fun distanced activities outside to get them moving and thinking creatively. We ask that families pack a light jacket to ensure campers comfort.
