Conceived and choreographed by Rose-Marie Menes to the original Tchaikovsky’s score, this ballet is specifically directed to children from ages 3 to 103 years young. The story takes place after the Revolutionary War, is about a young girl who has a nutcracker doll, and through the magic of Samuel Hickman (Drosselmeir) turns the doll into a young American soldier. He fights the battle of the red-coated mice army, slays the Mouse King, and takes Clara to the Land of Snow, the Land of Angels, and the Land of Sweets where she meets the beautiful Sugarplum Fairy, and her prince and all the wonderful spices and sweets of the Sugarplum Fairy’s Court.
