In this story writing and illustration workshop, kids learn how to produce distinctive characters, structure and outline plots, and practice illustration techniques that create images conveying actions and feelings. Participants outline, design and draw their stories, producing character traits and actions, and bringing them to life by turning simple lines and shapes into fantastic scenes and images! No previous story writing or illustration experience required.
This camp will run from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM in person at the Hudson Valley Writers Center. Students have the option to register for the full day, including Let's Make a Play in the afternoon until 4:00 PM. Students who attend camp full-day will be expected to bring a lunch.
The Hudson Valley Writers Center strives to make our offerings financially accessible to all youth, regardless of financial barriers. Thanks to our generous grant funders, we are able to offer tiered pricing to support access to high-quality literary programming for all participants, regardless of their economic circumstances. Please pick the price point that best reflects your family’s needs. If you can purchase a higher tier, please consider doing so to save a spot for a family with less room in their budget.
