Join us for the Early Fall Session of our Therapeutic Horsemanship offerings. We offer un-mounted sessions, therapeutic riding sessions and Connected Kids Club. Lessons start September 10th and go until October 12th.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

We offer different types of activities, all geared to be therapeutic in nature.  Here are just two of them!  Check out our website for more information!

1. Topfield’s ground programming consists of un-mounted (non-riding) equine activities and can be either an individual or group-based program.

Ground Programming Benefits:

  • Concentration, learning, and verbal skills

  • Increased awareness of one’s own actions and behaviors.

  • Improvements in self-esteem and self-control

  • Increased confidence from the experience of success in learning horsemanship skills.

  • Social improvements, including making new friends and learning through the guidance of credentialed Topfield staff members.

2.  Topfield's PATH International Therapeutic Riding program can benefit individuals working through various challenges.  Examples of disabilities and disorders that therapeutic riding can help:

  • Muscular Dystrophy

  • Cerebral  Palsy

  • Autism

  • Down Syndrome

  • Anxiety

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Cognitive Disabilities

  • Developmental Delays

  • Cancer

While the physical benefits, such as motor coordination, balance and muscle tone, achieved from therapeutic riding are numerous, the emotional and social benefits are also far reaching.  The therapeutic riding group session is specifically designed to provide opportunities for participants to practice cooperation, listening skills, language skills, patience, and empathy.  Participants build independence, create long lasting friendships, and develop a sense of belonging and self-confidence.
