First Day Walk

Start the new year outdoors! A highlight of this guided nature walk will include catching the first sunset of the year with a stunning view of the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains.

Start the new year outdoors! A highlight of this guided nature walk will include catching the first sunset of the year with a stunning view of the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains. First Day Hikes are part of a nationwide initiative led by America’s State Parks to encourage people to get outdoors.
What’s involved: We will be walking just over a mile in total along the Access for All trail, stopping often to discuss what we see and with seating available halfway through the walk. The Access for All Trail is flat and covered in gravel.
What to bring: Water, weather-appropriate clothing, and footwear.
What not to bring: Leashed, social dogs welcome! Please bring bags for removing any dog waste.
