Is the Big, Bad Wolf really so bad? Maybe not, according to the play HOWL, A shaggy wolf’s tale (tail), by Tom Kramer. We follow the adventures and misadventures of H. Jonathan Lupine, author. Jonathan has never been the fiercest wolf in the pack and his story leads him and the audience on a merry chase through the fields and forests around a quiet little village filled with residents we all know.
Along the way, our hero meets many fairy tale favorites including The Boy Who Cried Wolf, a flock of bored sheep looking for a change of scenery, Little Red Riding Hood and her not so feeble Granny and the Three Little Pigs, who would give a spoiled reality TV family a run for their considerable money! During the course of Jonathan’s journey, we see that truth is often not as absolute as we may think and sometimes people (and wolves) are judged on what the look like rather than who they are.
Our merry little band of players include George Croom, Cindy Finnegan, Kady Finnegan, Louise Kaminer, Nellie O’Brien and David Sevensky; and under the direction of Tom Kramer and Mara Mills. So join us on an adventure of fractured fairy tales, silly puns and a bit of heart. After all, we all enjoy a good howl every now and then.
Costumes are encouraged!
