Silent Meditation Retreat at Kadampa Meditation Center NY June 21 - 26, 2024
Change is a manifestation of the liberating truth of emptiness, and when we look at change with insight we see this truth. This is called the wisdom understanding dependent relationship and brings joy, meaning, and total transformation to our life.
In this Retreat, Buddhist Monk Gen Samten Kelsang will present these instructions with lucidity, clarity, and in practical, actionable steps so we can integrate this understanding into our day-to-day life. The approach will be experiential and will enable us to let go of limitation and fear through tapping into the feeling of deep inner freedom that Buddha called liberation.
Everyone can realize this truth and discover the peace and richness that it brings into our life. Our daily practice of emptiness will become a constant source of joy, comfort, and solace.
This will be a Guided Silent Meditation Retreat with Buddhist Monk Gen Samten Kelsang.

Buddhist Monk Gen Samten Kelsang, the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center New York, will lead the the Retreat. With over 30 years of study and practice of Buddha’s teachings, he presents Buddha’s most profound teachings in a practical and accessible way. Gen Samten has had the unique opportunity to engage in a three year silent retreat and carries with him a wealth of experience in skillfully guiding sincere practitioners to profound meditative insights on retreat.
In silence, we engage with the meditation object in a more intimate way. We stop ‘chatting’ about the Teaching's of Buddha from our mouth and start listening to the Teachings from deep within our heart which gives us a special inner experience of the teachings we receive. Penetrating insights arise and since we are able to hold onto them with firm mindfulness we find Dharma experience pervades and nourishes our heart at a very deep level.
