Learn about the fashions that inspired the HBO show, "The Gilded Age," through fashion plates from the period and a dressing demonstration of the many layers and pieces that make up the lady's fashionable ensemble. 1-2pm at the Hart Cluett Museum Caitlin Sheldon is a full time public librarian and a part time historical costumer who spends her days drinking tea and stabbing things repeatedly (a.k.a. sewing). She can be found on most corners of the internet as The Victorian Archivist.

Dress in the Gilded Age with The Victorian Archivist

Visit the Hart Cluett Museum on Saturday, February 15th to learn more about clothing during the Gilded Age!

Inspired by the HBO show, this program gives an overview of women’s clothing of the period, featuring examples from original fashion plates and includes a dressing demonstration of all of the layers that make up a fashionable lady’s toilette.

The Museum will be open 12-3pm with the program starting at 1pm.

Free and open to all ages!
