Intro to Photography Camp (Ages 13-18)

This more intensive workshop for teenage students will give them a strong knowledge of photography styles and camera settings through a series of engaging and interesting exercises.

Students will explore portraiture, landscape, documentary, abstract, sports, and other genres of photography in both color and black and white. They will learn how shutter speed and aperture are used to create certain photographic effects and how exposure is determined. Students will learn basic editing techniques using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. A viewing of the students’ favorite photos for family and friends will end the week-long experience. Students will need their own digital cameras (preferably with manual aperture and shutter speed control) with memory card. No cell phone cameras please!
