"Keep Calm & Breathe" Teen Meditation Class

Thera gThere is a growing body of evidence supporting the benefits of meditation or mindfulness, which teaches one how to pay attention to present moment, and learn how to regulate our thoughts in a special way to help stop automatic reactions and increase skillful, caring responses. A mindful practice could be beneficial to teens, helping them cultivate empathy, as well as skills for concentration and impulse control and /or help teens navigate the challenges of adolescence. Elisha Simpson, RCYT of Crossover Yoga Project will offer a free mediation class for teens at The Organic Teaching Kitchen on Thursday, June 11 at 6:15pm. This introduction will offer tools to help teens understand the benefits of meditation and be the first of a series of group meditations.
