Marine Art - Capturing the Spirit of Ships, Boats, and Waterfronts with Mark Peckham.

Mark will discuss pieces of his art collection. He will explain the joys and challenges of creating artwork of different types of ships and waterfront areas. The lecture will last approximately an hour with time for question and answers. Snacks and light refreshments will be provided. The lecture is free but donations are strongly recommended. The lecture will take place at the Riverport Wooden Boat School Classroom on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 pm.

Wednesday, November 14: “Marine Art - Capturing the Spirit of Ships, Boats, and Waterfronts” with Mark Peckham. Mark will illustrate his experiences drawing and painting marine subjects in the field under a variety of circumstances. His informal talk will include tales of bad weather at sea, disruptive onlookers at the dock and the seagull that flew away with his art supplies. Mark will explain what he is trying capture when he puts pen to paper. He will discuss illustrations that met his goals and critique some of his less successful attempts. 7:00 PM in the Riverport Wooden Boat School classroom. Suggested donation $5, pre-registration recommended.
