Ramapo’s Day Camp programs (Day Camp, Travel Camp, and CIT Program) are for youth ages 5* to 15 years old. Ramapo offers inclusive environments purposefully designed to build healthy, meaningful relationships with peers and adults. Counselors are trained in the renowned Ramapo Approach, which is built on the simple belief that all young people want the same things: to learn, to feel valued for who they are, and to experience success.

Ramapo Day Camp (ages 5*-13)
During the summer, day campers participate in a variety of activities, which may include creative projects, hiking, sports, performing arts, swimming, and much more! Each of us aspires to grow, both in big and small ways, and we are committed to helping all campers on their journey of growth. Day Camp is based at Ramapo’s Red Hook Campus.
*Children turning 5 years of age by December 31, 2025 may be eligible for enrollment.

Ramapo Travel Camp (ages 12*-14)
Travel Camp is offered to campers who will be in 6th through 8th grade for the 2025-26 school year. This program is based at Ramapo’s Rhinebeck Campus. Travel Camp is filled with dynamic outings that emphasize developing new relationships and having new experiences. Each day, campers embark on outbound trips to a variety of exciting locations, ranging from theme parks and sporting events to interactive exhibits, state parks, and more! In 2024, trip destinations included a Renegades Game, Six Flags, and Splashdown Beach Water Park.
*Children who are 11 years old and entering sixth grade in September 2025 may be eligible for enrollment.

Youth Leadership Program (LIT and CIT) (ages 14-15)
The Youth Leadership Program provides a path for our emerging leaders to transition from camper to counselor. By developing their skills, young leaders serve as positive role models, helping to foster a sense of community and a love for Camp.

Leaders-In-Training (LITs) will have opportunities to set goals, reflect on their experiences, apply leadership techniques, give and receive constructive feedback, and self-reflect. Responsibilities include assisting counselors and program staff and helping to organize activities. LITs are placed with a program area or camper group for a portion of each day. In addition, LITs will participate in a variety of recreational camp activities and leadership development sessions. LITs should be 14 years of age by the start of an enrolled session.
Counselors-In-Training (CITs) both observe and work alongside camp staff, learning and practicing how to support campers. The role of CITs is to enhance campers’ experiences without directly supervising them. There will be an emphasis on developing many skill sets including giving and receiving feedback, setting and achieving goals, resolving conflicts, and addressing large groups. CITs are placed with a program area or camper group for a portion of each day. In addition, CITs will participate in a variety of recreational camp activities and leadership development sessions. CITs should be 15 years of age by the start of an enrolled session.
