Youth Ensemble Theater (YET) provides pre-professional theater institutes for upper elementary, middle and high school aged students, and engages young people in a dynamic ensemble process to create and perform contemporary cutting edge theater that reflects the collective voice of diverse and divergent points of view and experiences.
OCTOBER 2018 – MAY 2019
YET TEEN: (GRADES 7 – 12)
YET IMPRO: Teens create an original theater piece using YET’s long-form acting approach. YETis explore complex character relationships, character journeys and play structure, that take the audience on an interactive journey. (May include multimedia elements like video, sound effects, and original music.)
Saturdays 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
PROGRAM DATES:
YET JR. (GRADES 4 – 6)
Long-form theater – YETis learn how to use long-form improvisational techniques to create a play as an ensemble. They will learn how listening and response leads to acting technique, and how to develop a three-dimensional character, and live fully in the world of a play as part of an ensemble group art-making experience.
